The Broadfield range is the perfect example of some of Alexander Rose's bestselling and well recognised pieces. The Broadfield bench was one of the first things designed by Alexander Rose over 20 years ago and is still a firm favourite today.
The chairs and benches in this range all have a curved and pleasingly slatted back, which fit to the shape of your back for ultimate comfort.
With its distinctive, reddish-brown tone, the Mahogany range will look instantly at home in your garden. Left in its natural state, it ages beautifully to a delicate silver grey. If you decide to treat it, the colour will deepen to a warm, dark red.
The wood is pinkish when freshly cut and then darkens to the typical Mahogany reddish-brown. It will turn to a silver grey colour over a period of 3-6 months. It can be treated with Timber Treatment and Timber Sealer, the latter of which is optional. Alexander Rose do not recommend the use of Protector on Mahogany as the colours are not compatible.
Alexander Rose manufactures garden furniture which will last for many years. Over time, as part of the natural weathering process, cracks and splits will appear in the wood particularly on the end grain and to a lesser extent on the surface. The drier the wood, the more cracks will appear due to the evaporation of natural oils and minerals in the wood from exposure to the elements.
As with most hardwoods, this is a normal characteristic for any timber which remains outdoors. The timber furniture is designed with this in mind and its strength and durability will remain unaffected.
Wooden furniture can be treated with Alexander Roses specially formulated care products to enhance the look of the wood. Please see the Alexander Rose Timber Treatment page here to find the appropriate timber treatment for your furniture. Alternatively it can be left to turn a mellow silver grey, and should be cleaned occasionally with soapy water.
