Alexander Rose Sherwood Treatment is a tinted stain formulated to safeguard and revitalize products within the Alexander Rose Sherwood Range. This acrylic-based coating is specifically designed for restoring Alexander Rose Sherwood furniture that may have endured damage, weathering, or loss of its original finish. Ensure the timber surface is clean and free from loose materials, lightly sanding it for an even coating.

Before application, ensure the cap is securely tightened, and shake the bottle thoroughly. Application should occur in dry conditions, with protection from rainfall for at least 24 hours. Sherwood Treatment can be applied using a fine brush or a short-fiber roller. Avoid excessive application to prevent surface saturation, which could lead to prolonged drying and an overly glossy finish. For optimal results, apply two coats with a drying time of 2-3 hours between each coat.

When applied thinly, Sherwood Treatment covers at a maximum rate of approximately 500ml per 4 to 6 square meters, whether using a brush or a fine roller.

Timber Maintenance

Weathering occurs over a period of time, and you can expect to see changes in the timber after a few weeks.

Alexander Rose manufactures garden furniture which will last for many years, however as part of the natural weathering process, cracks and splits will appear in the wood particularly on the end grain and to a lesser extent on the surface. The drier the wood, the more cracks will appear due to the evaporation of natural oils and minerals in the wood from exposure to the elements. As with most hardwoods, this is a normal characteristic for any timber which remains outdoors.

The timber furniture is designed with this in mind and its strength and durability will remain unaffected. Wooden furniture can be treated by lightly sanding the timber and applying Alexander Rose's specially formulated care products to give a beautiful rich finish.
